Ioannina Wallpaper
Developed from an 18th century embroidered textile from Epirus in northern Greece, this design reflects the distinctive “Giannina” style, known for blending Byzantine and Ottoman decorative influences. The richly detailed floral embroidery originally adorned the ends of ceremonial scarves worn by aristocratic families of the period. Reimagined at architectural scale, the historic borders form a rhythmic stripe pattern across the wall, giving the ornate motif a surprisingly contemporary structure. The natural palette and linen-toned ground bring warmth and softness, making the design well suited to country houses and relaxed interiors across kitchens, dining rooms, living spaces and bedrooms.
