Breccia Wallpaper
Developed from a 18th century hand-marbled paper traditionally used to decorate the interiors of fine books. The pattern was created by floating pigments on a thickened liquid bath and manipulating the surface before transferring the design onto paper - a centuries-old decorative technique prized for its fluid, unpredictable character. The composition features large, organic forms in warm tones of tan, brown and black, typical of historic marbling styles. The layered pigments create a rich, stone-like surface that feels both graphic and naturally irregular. Printed on a textured, uncoated paper stock, the surface absorbs light softly to produce a flat matte finish that enhances the handcrafted character of the design.
